Stan Utley Announced as Speaker at GCAA and WGCA Member Conventions

STAN UTLEY ANNOUNCED AS SPEAKER AT

WGCA AND GCAA MEMBER CONVENTIONS

NORMAN, Okla. – One of the most well-known and sought-after short game instructors in golf, Stan Utley, will speak at the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) and Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) National Conventions on Monday, December 9 in Las Vegas. Utley is a PGA TOUR winner and currently ranks 25th according to Golf Digest’s “America’s 50 Greatest Teachers” – a poll of more than 1,500 teaching professionals from around the country.

Utley attended the University of Missouri where he was a three-time All-Big Eight selection and two-time All-American. After graduation, Utley turned pro in 1984 and joined the PGA TOUR, and earned his first professional victory at the 1989 Chattanooga Classic. He also holds the PGA TOUR record for fewest putts in nine holes with six at the 2002 Air Canada Championship. Utley also competed on the Web.com Tour earning three victories – the 1993 NIKE Cleveland Open, and the 1995 NIKE Louisiana Open, and NIKE Miami Valley Open.

Currently, Utley focuses most of his time on teaching. His list of current and former students reads like a who’s who of golfers on the PGA, Korn Ferry, Champions, and LPGA Tours including Jay Haas, Sergio Garcia, Joaquin Neiman, Scott Langley, and Bill Haas. In the past Utley's students included Scott Piercy, Paige Mackenzie, Amanda Blumenherst, Kevin Streelman, Darren Clarke, Brandt Jobe, Rocco Mediate, Alex Noran, Inbee Park, Paul McGinley, and many more.

Utley’s passion is watching people “light up” when they have the experience of understanding and executing better golf through his instruction and encouragement. Utley begins each session by asking a series of questions to better comprehend a student’s playing history and goals. He then calls on his experience as a PGA TOUR player and instructor to share proven techniques for shooting lower scores in a simple, understandable way.

Utley has also written four instructional books – The Art of the Swing, The Art of Putting, The Art of the Short Game and The Art of Scoring – and developed a subscription-based video instruction website called Stan University (Stan U).
