Goldenring Division III Winner of Arnold Palmer National Individual Champion Award

NORMAN, Okla. – Sam Goldenring of Williams claimed the Division III Arnold Palmer National Individual Champion Award for earning medalist honors following the Division III National Championships.

Goldenring led after the opening round of the championship when he posted a bogey-free 3-under 69. He carded 74 in round two to fall into a tie for third. A six-birdie round led to 70 and a two-shot lead entering the final day. Three birdies in his first six holes extended Goldenring’s lead but posting bogey - double bogey before the turn moved him back to even for the day. He closed the tournament with nine straight pars to hold on for a two-stroke victory.

The win was Goldenring’s fourth of the season.
