Sweeney Wins NJCAA Division I Arnold Palmer National Individual Champion Award

NORMAN, Okla. – Kerry Sweeney of Eastern Florida State claimed the NJCAA Division I Arnold Palmer National Individual Champion Award for earning medalist honors at the NJCAA Division I Championships.

Sweeney carded four birdies against three bogeys for 1-under 71 in the first round, playing through wet and windy conditions. He again fired four birdies in the second round, but this time against one bogey, for 3-under 69 and moved into a tie for seventh. Sweeney would post another 71 in round three and moved into a tie for fifth. A blistering, bogey free 7-under 65 in the final round propelled Sweeney to a three shot victory.

The win was Sweeney’s second of the season.
