Rice Wins Arnold Palmer Award Presented by Callaway Golf

 

GOODYEAR, ARIZ. - Marc Rice of Tyler Junior College has won the Arnold Palmer Award presented by Callaway Golf for NJCAA Division II.  The Palmer Award is presented annually to the national championship medalists in men's golf in NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, the NAIA and NJCAA Divisions I and II.

  

Rice won the individual title by one stroke, and also led Tyler to a three-stroke team victory.  He opened the tournament by shooting a 70, and followed up with a 73 in the second round and an even-par 72 in the third.  Rice shot a 74 in the final round for a one-over 289 total.
