Johnson Wins NAIA Arnold Palmer National Individual Champion Award

MESA, Ariz. – Mark David Johnson of Coastal Georgia claimed the NAIA Arnold Palmer National Individual Champion Award for earning medalist honors at the NAIA Championships.

Johnson opened the tournament with 1-over 72 to sit tied for fourth. A second-round 74 saw him lose more ground and fall back to tied for 10th. Four third round birdies led him to climb to fourth at 2-over for the tournament. Three birdies on the front nine pushed Johnson into the final day lead, but three back-nine bogeys saw him fall into a three-way playoff. Johnson claimed the championship on the first playoff hole.

The win Johnson’s fourth of the season.
