Souza NJCAA Division II Winner of Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award presented by the Phil and Amy Mickelson Foundation

FORT WORTH, Texas – John Souza of South Mountain has been named recipient of the NJCAA Division II Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award presented by the Phil and Amy Mickelson Foundation.

Souza won three times this season - the Firestorm JC Invitational, the Glendale CC Invitational and the Chandler-Gilbert CC Invitational. He recorded four additional top 10 finishes and only finished outside the top 10 twice in 10 events.

Souza was joined on the All-Freshmen team by his South Mountain teammate Connor Klein, Mississippi Gulf Coast’s Grant Motter, Jacob Ross of Copiah-Lincoln and Darton’s Conner Watt.
