Romero Named NAIA Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award Recipient

SILVIS, Ill. – Gaston Romero of Oklahoma City has been named recipient of the NAIA Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award.

Romero tied for ninth at the NAIA Championships to help Oklahoma City claim the national title. It was his second top-10 finish of the season. A product of Cordoba, Argentina, Romero finished in the top 20 in four of his eight events.

Liam Gransden of Keiser, Texas Wesleyan’s Victor Miron, Coastal Georgia’s Chip Thompson, and Wayland Baptist’s Michael Valk joined Romero on the All-Freshmen Team.
