Blanchet Claims Division II Arnold Palmer National Individual Champion Award

SUGAR GROVE, Ill. – Chandler Blanchet of West Florida claimed the Division II Arnold Palmer National Individual Champion Award for earning medalist honors at the NCAA Championships.

Blanchet opened the championship with even par 70 to sit in a tie for 17th. A 4-under 66 in the second round, which included six birdies, up to tied for third and two shots back. Under tough third round conditions, Blanchet double bogeyed No. 2 and followed with bogey at the third. Another bogey at No. 10 moved him back to even par for the tournament. Blanchet responded with birdie at No. 11 to move back to 1-under. He posted seven straight pars to close out his round and outlast the competition to win by one stroke.

The win was Blanchet’s seventh of the season.
