2017 NJCAA DI Dave Williams National Coach of the Year Finalists presented by Golf Pride Grips Named

Garden City, Kansas - NJCAA Division I finalists for the Dave Williams Award presented by Golf Pride Grips have been announced by the GCAA. The Williams Award honors the national coach of the year in NJCAA Division I men’s golf.

The six finalists are Sandy Davis of Eastern Arizona College, Central Alabama CC’s Dave Jennings, Matt McCormick of Western Texas College, Indian Hills CC’s Rob Murray and Chris Robinson of Dodge City CC. If a team wins the NJCAA National Championship and its coach was not previously named a finalist for the Dave Williams Award that coach will be added for coach of the year consideration.

Davis has led Eastern Arizona College to four runner-up finishes on the season and another three third-place results.

Central Alabama CC, led by Jennings, have five event victories on the season, most recently at the NJCAA DI Region XXII Championship. The Trojans had two additional runner-up finishes.

The McCormick-led Westerners were the victors at the NJCAA SW Championship. Western Texas has two other victories on the season.

Murray has led Indian Hills to six total team wins on the season, most recently at the NJCAA District III Championship. The Warriors finished the regular season ranked first in the Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll.

Dodge City, led by Robinson, finished the season number two in the Bushnell Golfweek Coaches poll. The Conquistadors have a total of 4 event victories this season.
