Maldonado NJCAA Division II Recipient of Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award

FORT WORTH, Texas – Marco Maldonado of Tyler has been named recipient of the Division II Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award.

Maldonado won two tournaments on the season, the LeTourneau Spring Classic and the Hal Sutton Intercollegiate. His other three finishes were tied for fourth and placing sixth twice. Maldonado posted a 71.08 stroke average.

Meridian’s Lance Strickland, Mississippi Gulf Coast’s Colin Troxler, Justin Warren of South Mountain and Tyler’s Oliver White joined Maldonado on the All-Freshmen Team.
