Mark Broadie to Present at GCAA and WGCA Conventions
NORMAN, Okla. – Professor Mark Broadie, whose strokes gained analysis has revolutionized golf, will present to a joint session at the GCAA and WGCA national conventions held Dec. 7-9 in Las Vegas.

Broadie developed the strokes gained method to more accurately assess the performance of amateur and professional golfers compared to traditional golf stats. He also analyzes golf shot data to help golfers lower their scores through better on-course strategy. He worked with the PGA Tour on their implementation of strokes gained putting stat which debuted in May 2011 and is working with them to add strokes gained driving, approach, and short game in the near future. Broadie has worked with many touring pros and coaches, including Pat Goss (Luke Donald), Sean Foley (Justin Rose, Hunter Mahan, Edoardo Molinari), Chris Como (Tiger Woods), Cameron McCormick (Jordan Spieth), Colin Swatton (Jason Day), Justin Poynter (JJ Henry), Chris O’Connell (Matt Kuchar), Denis Pugh (Francesco Molinari), Bill McInerny (Brendon Todd) and others.
Broadie is the Carson Family Professor of Business and Vice Dean at the Columbia Business School in New York City. His New York Times bestselling book Every Shot Counts was published by Gotham Books in March 2014. Broadie writes a monthly column for Golf magazine and weekly strokes gained analyses of PGA Tour events at pgatour.com. He has been a member of the USGA’s handicap research team since 2003. Broadie worked with the USGA and Fox Sports to analyze shot tracking data at the 2015 US Open at Chambers Bay. He is a consultant for TaylorMade and helped with the development of myRoundPro. He developed the Golfmetrics app to allow amateur golfers to better analyze their golf games. His work with Professor Dick Rendleman that showed the bias in the Official World Golf Rankings won the Golf Digest best paper award at the 2012 World Scientific Congress of Golf.
