Oklahoma State Retains Collegiate Golf?s Top Ranking

NORMAN, Okla. ? After an extremely impressive final two rounds that resulted in a Hall of Fame Invitational win last weekend, the Oklahoma State Cowboys garnered 21of 24 first-place votes to solidify their stance atop the latest GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll. Following them was Georgia Tech - who grabbed a single first-place vote - and Georgia, the team holding the last two first-place votes.

New Mexico stood strong at the fourth slot while the Rebels of UNLV made this weeks biggest jump, up 10 spots to the fifth following its victory at the Southern Highlands Collegiate as well as their strong second-place finish at the Hall of Fame Invitational over the last two weeks. Florida sprung four spots up to number six while Arizona State jumped five rungs of its own up to seventh. Wake Forest, Brigham Young and Southern California round out this week?s top ten.

Auburn slid six slots back to No. 11 while TCU fell three to No. 12. UCLA remained at No. 13 and Duke rose three rungs to No. 14. Tennessee, Michigan State, Augusta State, Texas, Clemson and previously unranked South Carolina close out the top 20.

Kentucky rose a single position to check in at No. 21, right in front of Minnesota, who fell two slots to No. 22. This week?s poll is rounded out by Arizona, Georgia State and previously unranked Alabama.

Kent State and Washington fell from the top 25 rankings.

The GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches at Division I institutions. All are members of the Golf Coaches Association of America. The next Division I GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll will be released April 8.
