Methodist No. 1 in GCAA/Precept Coaches Poll

Defending national champion Gustavus Adolphus ranked second

Methodist is the top-ranked Division III men?s golf team in the GCAA/Precept Coaches Poll. Methodist - who spent the entire regular season ranked No. 1 before finishing fourth at last year?s national championships - received eight first-place votes. Defending national champion Gustavus Adolphus carded six first-place ballots and is ranked second.

Guilford also received a first place-vote and is ranked third while Greensboro comes in at No. 4. Redlands earned the final first-place vote to rank fifth and is followed by Ohio Wesleyan, Central, Saint John?s, Emory, Oglethorpe and Nebraska Wesleyan.

Central enters the poll at No. 11 and is followed by Wisconsin-Eau Claire, LaVerne, Otterbein and La Grange. Denison, Rhodes, California Lutheran, Skidmore and Hardin-Simmons fill spots 16 through 20.

Texas Lutheran checks in at No. 21 while Mary Hardin-Baylor, Allegheny, Rochester and Averett round out the top 25.

The GCAA/Precept Coaches Poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches at Division III institutions. All are members of the Golf Coaches Association of America. Previous ranking reflects last season?s NCAA Championship finish.
