Finalists Announced for 2020 NAIA Dave Williams Award presented by Golf Pride Grips

NORMAN, Okla. — NAIA Finalists for the Dave Williams Award presented by Golf Pride Grips have been announced by the GCAA. The Williams Award honors the national coach of the year in NAIA men’s golf.

The five finalists are Tina Barrett of Ottawa (AZ), Mike Cook of Coastal Georgia, Tom Harp of Wayland Baptist, Brandon Miller of Keiser, and Steven Paine of Point.

Barrett helped lead the Spirit to seven victories over the course of the 2019-20 season, while finishing runner up in their other two events of the year.

Coastal Georgia claimed five victories in 2019-20 under the direction of Cook, while never finishing outside of the top three in their other two events of the year. Over the course of the season the Mariners were ranked #1 in all six NAIA Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Polls.

Harp helped Wayland Baptist to three team victories over the course of the 2019-20 season. The Pioneers also earned two top-five finishes, one top-ten, and only finished outside of the top-ten in one event.

Keiser won five times this season under Miller’s tutelage. The Seahawks finished top three or better in all other events over the course of the year.

Point claimed six team titles under the direction of Paine during the 2019-20 campaign. The Skyhawks never placed outside the top three in their other four events of the season.
