2021 Jan Strickland Award presented by TaylorMade Golf Company Finalists Announced

NORMAN, Okla. — Oklahoma’s Bill Allcorn, Utah’s Chance Cain, Oregon State’s Noah Goldman, and Pepperdine’s Blaine Woodruff have been named finalists for the 2021 Jan Strickland Outstanding Assistant Coach Award presented by TaylorMade as selected by the GCAA. The Strickland Award is presented to the NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, or NJCAA assistant coach that, among other things, has excelled in working with their student-athletes both on the course and in the classroom.

Previously a volunteer assistant at his alma mater, Baylor, Allcorn wrapped up his fourth season as the Sooners’ assistant. Coaching Oklahoma to five team wins, three regular season medalists, and runner-up team finishes at the Big 12 and NCAA Championships, three of his student-athletes were inside the Top 15 of the inaugural PGA TOUR University Rankings.

Cain helped the Utes earn a selection to NCAA Regionals and junior Tristan Mandur secure school record low finish at the NCAA Championships. Winning one tournament as a team, Utah had two medalist finishes, both coming at the hands of junior Blake Thomlinson.

Goldman and the Beavers enjoyed postseason success, finishing a school-best second place at the Albuquerque Regional and earning their first NCAA Championship berth in 11 years. Goldman oversaw a season that had two Beavers receive All-Pac-12 and PING All-Region honors.

Woodruff helped lead Pepperdine to claim the 2021 NCAA championship. The Waves were able to keep their momentum from the COVID-19 shortened season which they ended ranked No. 1. Pepperdine won four additional tournaments and were runner-up on three additional occasions.

TaylorMade Golf Company has sponsored the Strickland Award since its inception in 2003.
