Hoffmann Named Division I Winner of Phil Mickelson Award presented by the Phil and Amy Mickelson Foundation

 


TOLEDO, Ohio ? Morgan Hoffmann of Oklahoma State has been named recipient of the Phil Mickelson Award presented by the Phil and Amy Mickelson Foundation as the most outstanding freshman in Division I men?s golf.
 
Also named a PING All-America First-Team selection and Big 12 Player of the Year, Hoffmann won medalist honors three times this season ? the PING/Golfweek Preview, Morris Williams Intercollegiate and Big 12 Men?s Championship. He tied Oklahoma State?s 18-hole scoring record of 62 at the Southern Highlands Collegiate. Additionally, Hoffmann posted runner-up finishes at both Southern Highlands and the Aggie Invitational.
 
Blayne Barber of UCF, Alabama?s Bud Cauley, Gregor Main of UCLA and Oregon?s Daniel Miernicki round out the All-Freshmen Team.
