Simms Named Eaton Golf Pride National Coach of the Year

Regional award recipients also announced

 

 

Duluth, Georgia - St. John Fisher's Bob Simms was honored as the Division III Eaton Golf Pride National Coach of the Year.  Eaton Golf Pride Regional Coaches of the Year have also been named.

  

Simms led his St. John Fisher team to a successful season, including a third-place finish at the Division III NCAA National Championship.  Three Cardinals players earned All-America honors, and Scott Harris, Jr. was named the National Player of the Year.

 

?I?m stunned,? Simms said of his award.  ?What makes a good coach are good players.?

 

Simms was the Mid Atlantic Region?s coach of the year, while Bob Alpers of St. John?s (Minn.) was honored for the Central, Methodist?s Steve Conley in the South, Rex Huigens of La Verne for the West, Rick Pohle of Williams in the Northeast and Ohio Wesleyan?s Jon Whithaus represented the Great Lakes.
