Team Selected for USA China Friendship Cup
American team to compete in inaugural event


NORMAN, Okla. ?  The American team has been selected for the inaugural USA
China Friendship Cup.  Team USA will consist of eight men and four women ?
all true freshmen - in the matches which will be held July 27-29 at Oak
Valley Golf Club in Beaumont, Calif.

Team USA will consist of Bronson Burgoon of Texas A&M, Vanderbilt?s Jacqui
Concolino, Sam Cyr of Point Loma, Arizona?s Ben Fox, Chris Killmer of Cal.
State-Bakersfield, Kimbra Kosak of Gustavus Adolphus, Loyola Marymount?s
Brian Locke, Chris Moore of Allegheny, Arizona State?s Jennifer Osborn,
Kristi Piepenbrink of Indianapolis, Georgia Tech?s Cameron Tringale and
Brett Willis of Central Alabama Community College.

The American team boasts six players who earned All-America honors -
Concolino (second), Killmer (second), Locke (honorable mention), Osborn
(second), Piepenbrink (third) and Tringale (second).  Locke (West Coast) and
Piepenbrink (Great Lakes Valley) were named their conference players of the
year while Locke and Tringale (ACC) claimed their conference titles.  
Killmer (Division II) and Moore (Division III) were named Phil Mickelson
Award recipients as the nation?s outstanding freshmen golfers in their
division and Kosak (Division III) and Piepenbrink (Division II) were named
NGCA National Freshmen of the Year.

The bi-annual Friendship Cup will be held in Beijing in the summer of 2008
just prior to the beginning of the Summer Olympics, and will return to the
USA in 2010.
