Seedings Set for Callaway Golf Collegiate Match Play Championship

2003 Match Play champion Florida tournament?s top seed

 

NORMAN, Okla. ? Seedings and first round matches have been set for the Callaway Golf Collegiate Match Play Championship at Colonial Country Club announced the Golf Coaches Association of America. Invitation to the Callaway Golf Collegiate Match Play Championship is be based on 2006 Division I national championships finish. The event - which will be held Oct. 29-31 - features 16 teams that finished in the top 20 at nationals. 2003 Match Play champion Florida will be the tournament?s top seed.

 

Florida will meet Arizona in the first round. The winner will face the victor of the eight-nine match between UNLV and Duke. Fourth-seeded Oklahoma State vs. NC State and fifth-seeded Clemson against Washington completes the top half of the bracket. UCLA - the third seed - will tee off against Auburn and play the winner of (6) Coastal Carolina-(11) Lamar. Seventh-seeded Texas A&M squares of against Arizona State. Defending Match Play champion and second-seeded Georgia battles Minnesota in the final first-round match.
