Methodist Still No. 1 in Precept Coaches Poll

Saint John's climbs to second

 

 

NORMAN, Okla. ? As it has been all season, Methodist is the top-ranked team in the Division III Precept Coaches Poll. The Monarchs captured 11 first-place votes. Saint John?s, which climbed four spots in the poll, earned three first-place votes to move into second.

 

Guilford, who also tallied a first-place ballot, bumped up to places to third and is followed by Gustavus Adolphus, who stayed at fourth and also earned a first-place vote. Ohio Wesleyan fell two spots to fifth and Oglethorpe slipped from second to sixth. Each claimed a first-place vote. Wisconsin-Eau Claire came in at seventh and is followed by Texas-Dallas, Emory and Redlands.

 

Greensboro fell out of the top 10 to No. 11. Central and Denison each climbed two spots to Nos. 12 and 13, respectively. Skidmore dropped to No. 15. Trinity climbed from No. 20 to No. 16 while Otterbein, Huntingdon, Nebraska Wesleyan and Averett, who fell 10 spots, round out the top 20.

 

Pacific Lutheran debuts in the poll at No. 21 and is joined by fellow newcomers Hope (24) and Mary Hardin-Baylor (25). LaVerne moved up a spot to No. 22 while Hope fell five rungs to No. 23.

Muskingum, Rochester and Williams fell from the rankings.

 

The Division III Precept Coaches Poll is voted on by a panel of Division III coaches that are members of the Golf Coaches Association of America. The next Division III Precept Coaches Poll will be released next spring.
