Mark Jensen Recipient of Labron Harris Sr. Award Scholarship for NENY PGA Section

SCHENECTADY, NY. – Each year the Golf Coaches Association of America in conjunction with E-Z-GO, presents the Labron Harris Award Scholarship to a graduating high school senior who is the dependent or sibling of a PGA Professional, and who resides in the PGA Section of the Labron Harris Award winning coach.  Mark Jensen has been named the Labron Harris Scholarship Award Winner for the Northeastern New York PGA Section. To earn this scholarship a student must meet or exceed requirements in GPA, SAT or ACT scores, involvement in extra-curricular activities and citizenship, and must not have already been awarded a scholarship from the PGA of America.

Mark is the eldest son of PGA Head Professional, Steve Jensen at Schuyler Meadows Club in Loudonville, NY and his wife Cindy. The $2,500 scholarship is awarded for the 2011-12 school year in the amount of $1,250 per semester. Mark is attending his freshman year at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA where he is pursuing a business/management degree. He graduated from Shaker High School where he was a member of the high school golf team for four years and also a ski instructor for the adaptive winter program at the Double H Ranch located in Lake Luzerne, NY which provides year round specialized programs for children and their families dealing with life-threatening illnesses.

About the Labron Harris Award
The Harris Award presented by E-Z-GO was named after the late Labron Harris Sr., former head coach at Oklahoma State University and PGA of America member. The Harris Award honors the college or high school coach and PGA Professional whose support of the game through teaching, coaching and involvement in the community has helped ensure the continued growth of the game.
