GOLF COACHES ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA
CONSTITUTION

ARTICLE I - NAME
This organization shall be known as the "Golf Coaches Association of America," hereinafter referred to as the "Association."

ARTICLE II - NATURE AND PURPOSES
Section 1. The Association shall be an incorporated organization of individuals who coach men's collegiate golf programs and others who wish to ally themselves with the purposes of the Association.

Section 2. The purpose of the Association shall be to educate, provide service to, promote and stimulate interest in the game of golf.

Section 3. The Association will recognize and honor outstanding players and coaches, as well as individuals who have made a significant contribution to collegiate golf and the GCAA.

ARTICLE III - MEMBERSHIP
Section 1. Membership in the Association shall consist of those individuals or entities that meet the requirements and qualifications as provided by the By-Laws.

Section 2. Disciplinary powers against individual members of the Association shall be in accordance with the provisions of the By-Laws.

ARTICLE IV - OFFICERS
Section 1. The Officers of the Association shall consist of the President, First Vice-President, Second Vice-President, Third Vice-President, Treasurer and Immediate Past President.

Section 2. All officers of the Association, except as stated otherwise below, shall serve for a two (2) year period. The newly elected Third Vice-President and other new officers shall be introduced at the Annual Convention Business Meeting prior to July 1 of the year they are to take office. The term of service for all officers shall commence on July 1 of the year they take office. The office of the President is one of automatic succession following his/her term of office as First Vice-President. The office of First Vice-President is one of automatic succession following his/her term as Second Vice-President. The office of Second Vice-President is one of automatic succession following his/her term of office as Third-Vice President. The office of the Immediate Past President is one of automatic succession following his/her term of office as President.  The Treasurer shall be appointed by the National Advisory Board and be reviewed on an annual basis.

ARTICLE V - NATIONAL ADVISORY BOARD
Section 1. There shall be a National Advisory Board (The "NAB"), which shall include the following:

A. The President, the First Vice-president, the Second Vice-President, the Third Vice-President the Immediate Past-President and the Treasurer who shall each be elected or appointed in accordance with the By-Laws, and

B. Three (3) Representatives-at-Large, who shall each be elected in accordance with the By-Laws.   The term of service for all representatives-at-large shall commence on July 1st of the year they take office, and

C. Six (6) Directors, who shall be elected in accordance with the By-Laws.  The term of service for all directors shall commence on July 1st of the year they take office, and

D. The Association Counselor-at-Law, Association Certified Public Accountant and Executive Director shall be appointed by the National Advisory Board and reviewed on an annual basis.  The Association Counselor-at-Law, Association Certified Public Accountant and Executive Director, shall be non-voting consulting members. 

E. The GCAA Executive Committee shall consist of the GCAA President, Immediate Past President, First Vice-President and Treasurer

Section 2. The NAB shall be responsible for the active management of the Association and shall be the policy making body of the Association. The NAB shall also have the functions of planning, organizing, directing and controlling the duties and responsibilities of the Standing Committees.

Section 3. The day-to-day administration of the affairs of the Association shall be carried out by the Executive Director under the guidance of the NAB.

ARTICLE VI ? COACHES CONGRESS
The Coaches Congress shall consist of coaches representatives from each conference with a minimum number of four universities/colleges in NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA, as well as up to, but not to exceed, four at-large representatives from each division.

ARTICLE VII - COMMITTEES
Section 1. The Association shall have the following standing committees:

D. Coach of the Year
E. Constitution
F. Convention
G. Education/Development
H. Hall of Fame
I. Honor Award
J. Legislation
K. Liaison
L. Membership
M. Nominations
N. Poll
O. Records and History
P. Necrology
Q. Long Range Planning

R. International Competition

S. International Coach Selection

T. Award at-Large

Section 2. The President shall appoint the Chairperson of each Standing Committee.

Section 3. Ad Hoc committees may be established by the President or the NAB from time to time to address issues of interest to the Association.

Section 4. Committee Chairpersons, unless otherwise members of the NAB, are not members of the NAB and shall not have voting privileges at NAB meetings. They may attend the NAB meeting at the request of the President.

ARTICLE VIII - AMENDMENTS
This Constitution may be amended by a two-thirds vote of those members present at the Business Meeting of the Annual Convention and from members voting by absentee ballot received by the NAB prior to the business meeting, provided that proposed amendments are submitted in writing to the NAB at least thirty (30) days prior to the annual Convention and provided that notice of the proposed amendments is sent to each member in good standing of the Association at least fifteen (15) days prior to the Business Meeting of the Annual Convention.
