Barry Maintains Number One Ranking in Golf World/Nike Golf Division II Coaches' Poll

(NEW YORK, NY) — The final Golf World/Nike Golf Division II College Coaches’ Poll has been released, combining the resources of Golf Worldmagazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions I, III, NAIA and NJCAA will appear in the May 21, 2012 issue of Golf World.  While grabbing only two of the available 11 first-place votes, Barry maintained its place atop the final Golf World/Nike Golf men’s Division II coaches’ poll of the spring.

Three victories in the 2011-12 season as a well as nine top-three finishes in 11 starts help secure the favorite label for the Buccaneers as they head to the NCAA Championship this week at the Cardinal Club GC in Louisville.

Also holding firm in the No. 2 and No. 3 spots are Nova Southeastern, with five first-place votes, and CSU-Stanislaus, with a single number one vote. No. 4

Chico State and No. 10 Georgia College are the other two programs to receive at least one first-place vote.

New to the top 10 are USC-Aiken, No. 9, and Georgia College at No. 10. Four new schools joined the top 25: No. 17 Colorado School of Mines; No. 20 Florida Tech; No. 22 Washburn; and No. 25 CSU-Monterey Bay.
