Flores Named to U.S. Palmer Cup Team presented by Fisher Capital Partners

NORMAN, Okla. ? Erik Flores has been named to the American squad for the Palmer Cup presented by Fisher Capital Partners at Cherry Hills Country Club in Denver. Flores will replace Jamie Lovemark, who is unable to compete due to injury. The annual Ryder Cup-style competition will be played June 3-5.

A senior from Grass Valley, Calif., Flores recently earned first-team All-Pac-10 honors, becoming the first UCLA golfer to be a three-time all-conference first-team selection. He earned his first collegiate victory by tying fellow U.S. Palmer Cup teammate Bud Cauley for medalist honors at the United States Collegiate Championship. He has three top five finishes in his last five starts and has played his last 15 rounds with a scoring average of 70.3. Flores has previously represented the United States at the 2005 Junior World Team Championships - where he led the USA to the team championship and won the individual title - and was part of the victories 2006 USA vs. Japan Collegiate Golf Championship team.

?Erik has really been playing well of late,? said U.S. Palmer Cup Coach Matt Thurmond. ?He certainly deserves to be on the team and no one has been hotter as of late than Erik Flores.?

The United States leads the all-time Palmer Cup series 6-5-1.
