Columbus State Still No. 1 GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll

CSU grabs eight first-place votes

NORMAN, Okla.

? Columbus State continued its stay atop the GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll as the top-ranked team in Division II men?s golf. CSU grabbed eight of 10 first-place votes to strengthen its hold on No. 1.

Florida Southern stayed at No. 2 while West Florida moved up one space to third. Valdosta stayed earned a first-place vote to climb two places fourth and fifth-ranked Cal. State Stanislaus carded the final first-place ballot. Armstrong Atlantic State and Barry tied at sixth and were followed by South Carolina-Aiken, Nova Southeastern and Chico State.

St. Edward?s moved up from 17th to No. 11 while Western Washington CSU-San Bernardino, Lynn and Abilene Christian filled slots 12-15. Grand Canyon jumped six spots to No. 16. Georgia College & State Univ. and Washburn checked at Nos. 17 and 18, respectively. North Alabama and Presbyterian tied at No. 19.

Central Oklahoma remained at No. 21 while Cameron, Belmont Abbey, USC-Upstate and Eckerd completed the top 25.

Northeastern State, Pfeiffer, Rollins and Sonoma State fell from the ranking.

The GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches at Division II institutions. All are members of the Golf Coaches Association of America. The next GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll will be released Nov. 16.
