Georgia No. 1 in first GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll

Defending champ Oklahoma State ranked second

Georgia earned the top ranking in the first GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll. Defending national champion Oklahoma State was ranked second - despite earning 13 of the 18 first-place votes to Georgia?s two.

Georgia Tech came in at third while ACC foe Clemson was fourth. Florida collected one first-place vote and was followed by UCLA and Alabama - which had the final two first-place ballots. Southern California and Arizona State were ranked ninth and 10th, respectively.

Wake Forest was rated No. 11 and was followed by UNLV, Duke, Texas A&M and Minnesota. North Carolina, Kentucky, Stanford, Georgia State and East Tennessee State filled spots 16-20.

Coastal Carolina, TCU, Washington, Lamar and Arizona completed the top 25.

The GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches at Division I institutions. All are members of the Golf Coaches Association of America. The next GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll will be released Oct. 12.
