Guilford Remains On Top of GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll

Only one change in top 11
 

NORMAN, Okla. ?

Guilford grabbed 12 of 16 first-place votes to keep its distance over the rest of the field in the latest GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll. Methodist, Oglethorpe and Huntingdon, which had one, one and two first-place votes, respectively, continued to follow this week?s leader. Otterbein and Wisconsin-Eau Claire switched places to check in at numbers five and six.

 

The seventh through 11th positions - Emory, Nebraska Wesleyan, Saint Johns (Minn.), Gustavus Adolphus and La Grange - remained unchanged. Greensboro made the biggest jump of the week - up five rungs to No. 12 - followed by Redlands, Texas Lutheran and Allegheny to close out the top 15.

 

Rhodes dropped a slot to 16th while Skidmore fell three spots of its own to No. 17. California Lutheran rose three rungs to 18th, ahead of Ohio Wesleyan, Mary Hardin-Baylor, Central, DePauw and Transylvania.

 

Illinois Wesleyan and Saint Thomas tied for 24th to round out this week?s poll.

 

Franklin and New York dropped from the rankings.

 

The GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches at Division III institutions. All are members of the Golf Coaches Association of America. The next GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll will be released May 4.
