Methodist Stays Tops in GCAA/Precept Coaches Poll

Monarch earn 11 first-place votes

Methodist continues its reign as the top-ranked team in Division III men?s golf in the GCAA/Precept Coaches Poll. The Monarchs - who have been ranked No. 1 all season - earned 11 first-place votes.

 

Gustavus Adolphus claimed five first-place votes to stay at second and Saint John?s tallied one first place-ballot to remain third. Guilford moved up a spot to fourth. Ohio Wesleyan received the final first-place vote but dropped to fifth. Oglethorpe, Emory, Greensboro, Redlands and Nebraska Wesleyan round out the top 10.

 

Wisconsin-Eau Claire took the biggest drop in the poll, falling five spots to No. 11. Central and La Grange flip-flopped spots 12 and 13. Rhodes made the biggest jump, climbing from No. 21 to No. 14. Denison (No. 15), Mary Hardin-Baylor (No. 16) and LaVerne (No. 17) each dropped one spot. Texas Lutheran, Hardin-Simmons and Otterbein complete the top 20.

 

Skidmore fell two rungs to No. 21 while Hope (No. 23) dropped three spots. California Lutheran debuts at No. 22 and Trinity University reentered the poll at No. 24. Allegheny ranked 25th.

Averett and Texas-Dallas fell from the rankings.

 

The Division III Precept Coaches Poll is voted on by a panel of Division III coaches that are members of the Golf Coaches Association of America. The final Division III Precept Coaches regular season poll will be released April 29.
