The Florida Gators once again captured 31 first-place votes to retain its status as the top-ranked team in men?s college golf in the GCAA/Precept Coaches Poll. Florida has been the nation?s top-ranked team the entire regular season after opening the fall tied for second in the preseason poll.

 

Defending national champion Clemson remained second and is followed by Georgia, who moved up two spots to third. UCLA and Georgia Tech each slid one spot to fourth and fifth, respectively. Sixth-ranked Arizona State and No. 7 Oklahoma State flip-flopped rankings for the third-straight poll. Texas, TCU and UNLV stood pat at positions eight through 10.

 

After winning the Hall of Fame Invitational, Arizona received one first-place vote and climbed two spots to No. 11 where it replaces Minnesota, who slipped to No. 12. Brigham Young made the biggest jump in the polls - seven spots to No. 13 - after winning the Morris Williams Intercollegiate. South Carolina come in at No. 14 and is followed by New Mexico, California, Augusta State, Arkansas, Wake Forest and Southern California.

 

Oklahoma (No. 21) and Washington (No. 22) each moved up one notch. North Carolina fell out of the top 20 to No. 23. Kentucky enters the rankings for the first time this season at No. 24 and is followed by Duke.

 

Colorado State was dropped from the previous rankings.

The GCAA/Precept Coaches Poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches at Division I institutions. All are members of the Golf Coaches Association of America. The next Division I GCAA/Precept Coaches Poll will be released April 8.
