Methodist College Reclaims No. 1 Ranking in Precept Coaches Poll 
Wisconsin-Eau Claire drops to second

Methodist College claimed seven first-place votes to recapture the top ranking in the Precept Divison III Coaches Poll. Former No. 1 Wisconsin-Eau Claire earned five first-placed votes and fell to second. Methodist College has been ranked No. 1 in all but one poll this spring.

 

Averett claimed a first-place vote to move from sixth to third. Defending national champion Guilford held steady at fourth while Oglethorpe earned a first-place vote and fell from third to fifth. Greensboro College come in at No. 6. Skidmore College, who made the biggest move in the poll, jumped up nine spots to No. 7 and claimed the final first-place vote. Emory, Saint John?s and Redlands also landed in the top 10.

 

Ohio Wesleyan, host of next week?s national championships, begins the second 10 and is followed by Texas-Dallas, Gustavus Adolphus College, Muskingum College, LaVerne, Central College, Wesley College, Trinity University, Mary Hardin-Baylor and Denison. Washington & Lee, who took the biggest tumble in the poll, dropped from No. 12 to No. 21. Huntingdon College and Hardin-Simmons make their debut in the poll at Nos. 22 and 23, respectively. Otterbein College and Savannah College of Art & Design round out the top 25.

Christopher Newport and Nebraska Wesleyan fell from the rankings.

 

To vote in the Precept Coaches Poll, a coach must be a member of the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The next Precept Division III Coaches Poll will reflect the standings of the NCAA Championships.
