NORMAN, Okla. – Illinois begins the 2015-16 season as the top-ranked team in the Bushnell Golfweek Preseason Coaches Poll. The Illini received three first-place votes while defending national champion LSU ranks second with 12 first-place votes.

Texas received five first-place votes to sit at third. Fourth-ranked Florida State collected the remaining first-place vote. NCAA runner-up Southern California is No. 5 and followed by Arizona State, UCLA, South Carolina and Auburn. Stanford and Vanderbilt tied for 10th.

All eight teams that advanced to match play at last spring’s NCAA Championships are ranked in the preseason poll.
