NEW YORK (February 26, 2014) — The first Golf World/Nike Golf NAIA College Coaches’ Poll of the Spring 2014 season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions I, III, III and NJCAA will appear in the March 3, 2014 issue of Golf World. Oklahoma City, fresh off a victory to start its spring campaign at the Claude Jacobs Invitational, rose to the No. 1 spot in the first spring edition of the Golf World/Nike Golf men's NAIA college coaches' poll.

The Stars had two victories in the fall semester and earned four of the seven available first-place votes.

Previously top-ranked Wayland Baptist dropped one spot to the No. 2 ranking. The Pioneers finished third at the Claude Jacobs, 14 shots back of Oklahoma City, but still grabbed two first-place votes.

Texas Wesleyan claimed the No. 3 spot, earning the remaining first-place vote after finishing second at the Claude Jacobs.

One new school jumped into the top 10: No. 10 Johnson & Wales (Fla.). One new program also joined the top 25: Tennessee Wesleyan, which claimed a share of the No. 25 spot.
