(NEW YORK, NY) — The Golf World/Nike Golf NAIA College Preseason Coaches’ Poll has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions I, III and III, will appear in the September 5, 2011 issue of Golf World.   Oklahoma Christian, which won its second NAIA championship in three years last spring, enters the 2011-12 season as the No. 1 ranked team in the Golf World/Nike Golf NAIA preseason coaches’ poll.

The Eagles won five times last season and finished outside the top two in just one event. The squad claimed eight of the 10 available first-place votes.

Oklahoma City is ranked second in the preseason poll. The Stars are a perennial NAIA power having claimed the national title seven times.

British Columbia claimed the No. 3 spot, followed by a tie for fourth between Grand View and USC-Beaufort.

University of the Cumberlands was the other school to earn a first-place vote, which helped them claim the No. 9 spot in the top 25.
