(NEW YORK, NY) — The Golf World/Nike Golf Division III College Preseason Coaches’ Poll has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions I, II and the NAIA, will appear in the September 5, 2011 issue of Golf World.  Greensboro, the defending NCAA champions, begins the 2011-12 season as the top-ranked team in the Golf World/Nike Golf Division III preseason coaches’ poll.

The Pride claimed 10 of the 14 first-place votes after last year’s three win campaign.

St. John’s (Minn.) is ranked No. 2 in the preseason poll, earning two first-place votes. Methodist, Guilford (with the final two first-place votes) and Illinois Wesleyan round out the top five.
