(NEW YORK, NY) — The final Golf World/Nike Golf Division I Coaches’ Poll of the season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions II, III and the NAIA, will appear in the May 23, 2011 issue of Golf World. Oklahoma State enters the NCAA postseason as the top ranked school in the final Golf World/Nike Golf Division I men’s coaches’ poll of the spring season.

The Cowboys claimed 19 of 21 first-place votes after winning the Big 12 Championship last month, the school’s 54th conference title and the team’s seventh victory in the 2010-11 season. The team is looking to advance to the NCAA Championship for record 65th straight year this weekend when OSU plays in the NCAA Regionals in Colorado.

UCLA hung on to the No. 2 spot in the poll while Alabama remained in the third spot. Georgia Tech and Florida, each having received a first-place vote after winning the ACC and SEC titles, respectively, round out the top five.

After winning the Big Ten title for a third straight year, Illinois moved into the top 10, taking the No. 8 spot, the only newcomer to the top. 10.

No new schools joined the poll.
