NEW YORK, NY - The latest Golf World/Nike Golf Division I College Coaches’ Poll has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions II, III, NAIA and NJCAA will appear in the April 1, 2013 issue of Golf World. With eight victories in nine starts thus far in the 2012-13 season, California maintained its spot atop in the latest Golf World/Nike Golf Division I men's coaches' poll, earning 22 of 23 first-place votes.

The Golden Bears most recently claimed the team title at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters, winning a tournament against the strongest field of the season.

Alabama held firm to its No. 2 ranking in the poll, the Crimson Tide receiving the lone remaining first-place vote. The squad has won four times this season, including its last two starts.

Jumping up three spots to the No. 3 position is New Mexico, fresh off a victory at the Don Puckette N.I.T., the Lobos third victory in 2012-13. This is the highest the school has ever been rated in the Golf World polls since it was revived in 2001-02.

Rounding out the top five are Washington and UCLA.

Joining the top 10 is Stanford, moving from 13th to ninth. Three news schools joined the top 25: No. 16 North Florida, No. 24 Saint Mary's (Calif.) and No. 25 Houston. It's the first time that Saint Mary's has ever appeared in the poll. Meanwhile, Houston makes its first appearance in the poll since September 2001.
