NEW YORK, NY—The latest Golf World/NIKE Golf Division II Coaches’ Poll of the spring season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, NIKE Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions I, III and the NAIA, will appear in the March 16, 2011 issue of Golf World. Chico State held on to the No. 1 spot in the Golf World/NIKE Golf Division II coaches’ poll, claiming five of the 17 first-place votes.

The Wildcats have finish first or second in seven of their eight tournaments in the 2010-11 season, including a runner-up finish in last week’s Grand Canyon Thunderbird Invitational.

Close on Chico State’s heels is No. 2 Lynn, which earned five first-place votes, No. 3 West Florida and No. 4 Central Oklahoma, both schools also receiving first-place votes.

Rounding out the top five is Western Washington.

New to the top 25 is No. 21 UNC-Pembroke and No. 24 Grand Canyon.
